Real ‘Housewives of Atlanta’ Star, Hits The Lou
Recently Vatterott College Extreme Institute by Nelly launched its first new interview series of webshows called Seviin at 7. Recording artist Seviin Li, in partnership with Grammy award winner Murphy Lee, interviewed Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kandi Burruss, also a recording artist, songwriter, and producer. Shot at the Vatterott College Extreme Institute by Nelly, the shows will feature a new guest artist or prominent member of the entertainment community each month.

Ms. Burruss began her career with the band Xscape, leaving to focus on her songwriting. In 1999, her song “No Scrubs” became a #1 hit for the music group TLC and received a Grammy, MTV Video Music Award, Billboard Music Award and Soul Train Music Award. Burruss shared her personal experience in the music industry, her move from performance into songwriting and production, and the importance of constantly learning new aspects of the business. She recommended that up and coming artists keep networking and consider songwriting as a way into the music industry.
