All was calm in the LaSalle Park area over the weekend. But, back on Oct. 5, 2009 all hell broke loose when two desperadoes invaded a home there, killing the owner, Gina Stallis, and wounding city police officer Isabella Lovadina. Also shot in the bizarre incident was city firefighter, Nicholas Koenig, a cousin to Stallis. On Friday, a judge sentenced the second perpetrator––Mario Coleman––to life without parole, plus five life terms and 90 years.

Coleman Sentenced To Life For Bloody Home Invasion

LASALLE PARK---Short of sentencing 24-year-old Mario Coleman to the lowest circle of Hell, St. Louis Circuit Court Judge Robert Dierker Jr. did the next best thing last week, giving Coleman life without parole for first-degree murder plus five life terms plus 90 years for killing Gina Stallis and wounding a police officer and firefighter, both off-duty, during a terrifying home invasion just south of downtown. Coleman’s accomplice, LeDale Nathan Jr., had received life without parole plus five life terms plus 75 years at his sentencing May 28.

That off-duty city cop, Isabella Lovadina, didn’t plan on addressing Coleman at his sentencing Friday for the bloody home…
